I used to be a Generic Salesperson, Level 1 (not my real title, haha) but my supervisor thinks I'm doing well enough to make me a specialist in the brand I sell! That means I'll learn all the details about the fit and material in order to answer customers' questions better, and after a while I'll get free clothes from the brand so I can advertise it by looking awesome. Yaaay!

Since February is a slow month at the store, I'll be working fewer hours, but at least I'll have more time to work on art. Hope to be back soon to the realms of the deviantART living. (I've actually been making a good bit of art, but I haven't been posting it. Better get on that.)

To all my friends and watchers - and whoever passes by this page - have a wonderful Christmas and a Happy New Year! If there are other holidays you celebrate around this time, I hope they are filled with fellowship and memories.

I have many greetings I'd like to return and comments I'd like to give, but it seems that will have to wait until after Christmas, maybe after New Year's. I've unofficially been on a break from deviantART since Thanksgiving. I've been working, volunteering, and spending time on some personal art projects that I may or may not post. You certainly haven't seen the last of me, and I hope you'll still be here to enjoy my comments and critiques when the holiday-o-rama ends.

Writing my novel by day, working at a department store by night, saving money for grad school... I'm happy. I wasn't sure I would enjoy working retail, but it suits me very well. Apparently I am more sociable than I thought, and I really like clothes. I sold some skinny jeans to a mom who thought she couldn't wear them.

Hope you all are having a fine time arting and writing. I still have not caught up on my messages, but that's pretty normal for me >.>

Oh man oh man oh man. I'm back! And I got a job! It's at the most rad department store in the Southeast US and you should totally go there. In fact, you should drive up to my location and sign up for a credit card at my register.  

For the past 2 weeks we hosted an awesome Japanese exchange student at our house. That deserves its own journal entry, which will come later if I feel like it. He did his best to figure out how to use a knife and fork... I shouldn't have been so surprised that he didn't know how!

Yesterday I got back from my first solo road trip. I drove to the mountains to go hiking and driving with my parents, brother, and grandpa. I drove 4.5 hours each way, and I sang along with my personal "best of Queen" compilation and nobody was there to tell me no.

Well, on to look at all y'all's art and writing! I've avoided deviantART for a while because I needed one less distraction during my job search. Now that that's over, I can take some time to catch up.

Oh yeah... Have a Happy Halloween! Be as spooky as you wanna be.

J has callously abandoned me to go to a Warhammer 40k convention (like every other weekend ) so I am left to amuse myself.
I'm kidding about the grump... I really like having the place to myself. Time to paint my nails while singing along to terrible Europop!
My in-laws offered to swoop in and take me to the beach with them tomorrow :3
